Domaine de Rochebin Sancerre Chemin de l'Orme au Loup is a white wine from the Loire Valley's prestigious Sancerre appellation in France. This wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the Upper Loire region, known for producing some of France's most celebrated expressions of this varietal.
Sancerre wines are characterized by their bracingly crisp acidity, vibrant citrus flavors, and distinctive mineral character. Classic tasting notes include gooseberries, grass, nettles, citrus, elderflower, lime, Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit, green apple, and pear, with a lovely stony, flinty-smoke minerality. The wine is light and refreshing, typically around 10-11% alcohol by volume, with high acidity and a clean, energetic finish.
Domaine de Rochebin is a 50-hectare estate established in 1925, located in Azé in the heart of the Mâconnais region of Burgundy. The domaine is currently managed by third-generation winemaker Mickaël Marillier alongside his father Jean-Pierre and Laurent Chardigny. They practice sustainable viticulture with low intervention winemaking that respects regional traditions. Most producers in Sancerre avoid oak aging to preserve the natural clarity and tension of the white wine, resulting in wines that showcase the pure essence of the terroir.
