Zorzal Pinot Noir is a high-altitude Argentine red wine from Gualtallary in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, produced at approximately 4,500 feet above sea level. Founded in 2007 by the Michelini brothers, Zorzal is a boutique winery practicing organic farming on a 70-hectare estate of sand, stones, and limestone. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeast, reflecting the winemaker's philosophy of minimal intervention to let the fruit and terroir shine.
This Pinot Noir offers bright red fruit aromas, predominantly raspberry, with notes of cola, dried leaves, and forest floor. The palate is rich and supple with light tannins and medium acidity, delivering an elegant, fruit-driven profile. Fermented with 40% to 50% whole clusters in stainless steel, the wine retains vibrant freshness and acidity thanks to slightly earlier picking than is typical in the region. It pairs well with roasted poultry, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, and soft cheeses.
