The cheese features a creamy, supple texture that melts beautifully, with flavor notes of sweet cream, toasted nuts, and a delicate meatiness. Made by award-winning cheesemaker Marieke Penterman, who relocated from Holland to Thorp, Wisconsin to pursue her dream of crafting authentic Gouda, this cheese took 1st through 4th place at the World Cheese Awards in the Gouda category in 2014.
