Marieke Premium Gouda is an award-winning aged cheese crafted by Rolf and Marieke Penterman at their family farm in Thorp, Wisconsin. The Pentermans emigrated from the Netherlands in 2002, bringing traditional Dutch cheesemaking techniques to America. Each 12-ounce package contains gouda aged between 12 and 18 months, developing a firm, crystallized texture with complex notes of roasted nuts, caramel sweetness, and grassy undertones. The characteristic crunchy white crystals (tyrosine) throughout the paste are a hallmark of proper long-term aging.

Made from raw whole cow's milk with veal rennet, salt, and enzymes, this cheese has earned numerous accolades including Best in Show at the 2013 US Cheese Championship and second place at the 2024 World Cheese Championship. Its rich, complex flavor profile pairs beautifully with fig preserves and sturdy crackers, stout beer, or Syrah. It shreds elegantly onto Caesar salads and grates perfectly atop risotto or pasta carbonara.
