Château Faurie de Souchard is a prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate from Bordeaux's Right Bank, owned since 2014 by the Dassault family (of Château Dassault). The estate's 12 hectares of vineyards are planted on the north-facing slope of Saint-Émilion, where clay-limestone and clay-sand soils produce wines of notable freshness and elegance. This 750 mL bottle is sold in a case of six.

The wine is a classic Bordeaux blend composed of approximately 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested by hand. Vinification takes place plot by plot in temperature-controlled concrete and oak vats, followed by aging in French oak barriques and amphoras for 14 to 16 months depending on the vintage. The wines reveal freshness and elegance on the nose, with a delicate and balanced palate underscored by lovely tension. Aromas of red berries, espresso, flowers, licorice, and dark fruit are characteristic of this estate.

Best enjoyed after 3 to 5 years of bottle age and at its peak within 4 to 12 years from vintage. Young vintages benefit from approximately one hour of decanting to soften the tannins and open the aromatics. Serve at around 60°F (15.5°C). Pairs well with beef, lamb, duck, veal, game, roasted and braised meats, as well as rich fish dishes, mushrooms, and pasta.
