Virna Borgogno Barolo Riserva DOCG is a premium Italian red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, produced by one of the most historic wineries in the Langhe region of Piedmont. The Borgogno family has owned vineyards in Barolo since 1720, and the estate is now managed by sisters Virna and Ivana, with Virna serving as the first female winemaker of the operation.

This Riserva is produced only in the finest vintages using traditional methods. The Nebbiolo grapes are harvested in October from select vineyards in the iconic Cannubi area of Barolo. Vinification involves maceration for 10 to 15 days in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for 30 months in French oak barrels. It carries an alcohol content of 15% by volume and is best served at 16 to 18°C.

On the nose, the wine reveals a rich bouquet of ripe red fruits, plums, spices, vanilla, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, it offers great structure with flavors of plum, clove, and sage, supported by well-integrated tannins and a long, memorable finish. It pairs beautifully with braised meats, roasted veal, wild game, and aged cheeses such as 36-month Parmigiano Reggiano.
