Heaven's Door Bootleg Series Vol. V is an annual limited-release straight bourbon whiskey aged 18 years and finished in Spanish Vermouth Rouge casks sourced from Spain. This expression is the fifth installment in the Bootleg Series, released in November 2023 and overseen by Master Distiller Ken Pierce and Master Blender Alex Moore.

Starting life as an 18-year-old straight bourbon, the whiskey undergoes a secondary maturation in ex-Rouge vermouth casks — a sweet, aromatized fortified wine — imparting a distinctive character unlike typical bourbon finishes. The result is a rich, dark amber spirit bottling at 114 proof (57% ABV) with a complex nose of maple sugar candy, Concord grape, caramel, and Worcester sauce. The palate delivers toffee, tobacco leaf, chocolate-covered almond, and earthy undertones with a velvety mouthfeel, finishing dry and savory with cigar box, baking spices, and allspice.

Each bottle is adorned with an original painting by Bob Dylan — the 2023 edition features "No Vacancies" from The Beaten Path Collection — and presented in bespoke premium packaging. The Bootleg Series is one of Heaven's Door's most collectible and sought-after annual releases, appealing to serious whiskey enthusiasts and collectors alike. The whiskey is sourced from an undisclosed Tennessee distillery.
