Zaca Mesa Inceptive is a Rhône-style red blend from California's Santa Ynez Valley, produced entirely from estate-grown fruit by one of the Central Coast's pioneering Rhône varietal wineries. The wine is composed of approximately 57% Syrah, 28% Grenache, and 15% Mourvèdre, aged in a distinctive combination of neutral oak barrels, Italian concrete tanks, and amphora vessels to preserve the freshness and terroir-driven character of the estate vineyard.

On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, mocha, lavender, and dark spice, with hints of licorice and dried raspberry. The palate is rich and concentrated, with plush tannins and layered flavors of boysenberry pie, charred black cherry, cured meat, and tobacco, leading to a long, structured finish. Alcohol content is 14.5%. The Inceptive has earned critical acclaim including 92 points from Antonio Galloni, 90 points from Wine Enthusiast, and 90 points from Wine & Spirits.

Pairs well with beef, lamb, pasta, and game meats such as venison. Contains sulfites.
