Screaming Eagle 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is an iconic Napa Valley red wine sourced from a small estate located off the Silverado Trail in the Oakville appellation. This three-bottle set is presented in an Original Wooden Case (OWC) and contains three 750ml bottles. The grand vin is composed of approximately 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder being Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It earned perfect 100-point scores from both Jeb Dunnuck and James Suckling.
Jeb Dunnuck described the wine as "pure perfection in a glass," noting a Château Margaux-like perfume of crème de cassis, sandalwood, dried flowers and violets, and graphite. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, ultra-pure, and incredibly elegant, it is the hallmark of this estate's understated finesse-driven style. James Suckling called it "breathtaking," with aromas of blueberry, wet earth, black truffle, vine bark, and lavender, followed by a tight, compressed full-bodied palate with fabulous savory and dark fruit flavors that linger for minutes on the finish.
The wine benefits from additional bottle age of 3 to 4 years from release and is projected to cellar for 25 to 30 years from vintage.
