Spiritus Terrae Malvasia Orange is a biodynamic orange wine from the Terre di Chieti appellation in Abruzzo, Italy. Made from 100% Malvasia grapes using ancestral winemaking techniques with spontaneous fermentation, this wine offers a rich and complex aromatic profile. On the nose, expect floral notes, peach, tropical fruits, and herbs. The palate reveals notes of fallen orchard apple, peach, tropical fruit, and floral tones with nice body and acidity. At 13.5% alcohol by volume, this orange wine pairs beautifully with bolder foods like curry dishes and semi-aged cheeses. Produced by Cantina Orsogna, a cooperative of 600 farmers formed in 1964 near Majella National Park, dedicated to organic and biodynamic winemaking. The Malvasia grape has a fascinating history, with its name derived from the Greek city of Monemvasia in the Peloponnese, becoming the most important wine in Europe during the 1500-1700s thanks to Venetian merchants.
