Olmeca Altos Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber Agave tequila produced in the celebrated Los Altos highlands region of Jalisco, Mexico, at an elevation of 2,104 meters above sea level. It is crafted at Destilería Colonial de Jalisco (NOM 1111) under the Pernod Ricard Group, beginning with agave slow-roasted in traditional Mampostería brick ovens.
This reposado is uniquely produced by blending two distinct distillates: one made from agave crushed using a traditional tahona millstone, and the other processed through modern mechanical roller mills. This dual-method approach creates depth and complexity. The tequila is then aged 6 to 8 months in ex-bourbon white American oak casks, imparting warm oak and vanilla notes that complement the agave's natural character.
On the nose, expect cooked agave with sweet, fruity tones of candied orange and lively citrus zest, enriched by hints of vanilla, caramel, and soft wood. The palate is silky and well-balanced, offering sweet orange, toasted nut, and cooked agave flavors with a warm, enduring finish. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), it is widely regarded as a premium bartender's tequila of choice, earning multiple international awards including Gold at the International Spirits Challenge 2024 and Silver at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2025. The 1.75L format offers exceptional value for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails such as Margaritas, Palomas, and Old Fashioneds.
