Castello del Trebbio Lastricato is a single-vineyard Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. crafted from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown at the historic Castello del Trebbio estate in Pontassieve, Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The Vigneto Lastricato Terraelectae vineyard was planted in 2001 in clay soil rich with limestone skeleton, trained using the Guyot system at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare with yields of just 1.2 to 1.5 kg per vine.

Grapes are harvested by hand with clusters carefully selected and collected in small 10 kg crates. After destemming and light crushing, the must ferments spontaneously in terracotta amphorae with maceration lasting 15 to 20 days depending on the vintage. The wine is aged approximately 30 months in large 20-hectoliter barrels, followed by a further 12 months of bottle aging before release, giving it an aging capacity of over 20 years.

The wine presents an appealing nose of black cherries, spices, and balsamic hints. On the palate, it shows compact yet soft, well-blended tannins and a very pleasant, long finish. Tasters also report notes of raspberry, strawberry, oak, vanilla, leather, blackberry, pepper, licorice, and violet. It pairs well with beef, veal, and poultry. Serve at 16°C in summer or 18°C in winter. Alcohol: 13%. Contains sulfites.
