Garageland Pinot Noir is a multi-vineyard, multi-appellation Willamette Valley blend crafted by Matt Berson of Portland Wine Company, the same creative force behind the acclaimed Love & Squalor label. The name is lifted from The Clash punk-rock song "Garageland," an homage to all artisans—musicians, painters, vintners, and food makers—who toil away behind nondescript roll-up garage doors.
Sourced from vineyards across Oregon's Willamette Valley, including Ribbon Ridge and the Laurelwood AVA, this Pinot Noir delivers concentrated fruit character with aromatic complexity. Tasting notes reveal blackcap raspberry, blueberry scone, black pepper, cedar, and dark chocolate, balanced with punchy natural acidity and neutral oak. The 2023 vintage shows a lovely black cherry heart with surprising depth and complexity for the price point. Wine Enthusiast awarded the 2021 vintage 92 points, praising it as "full throttle" value Pinot Noir with genuine attention to the qualities that define the grape.
