Ernest Vineyards Chardonnay from the Joyce Vineyard is a small-production Sonoma Coast white wine from a single 3-acre site located on the ridge above Freestone Valley, one of the coldest vineyards on the West Sonoma Coast. The site is farmed organically and planted entirely to Clone 5 Chardonnay in Goldridge soil, a combination that reliably produces wines with citrus character and bright acidity.

This pale yellow, white-gold Chardonnay opens with powerful aromas of green apple, citrus cream, and minerals, with a distinctly cool, restrained style. On the palate it displays delicacy alongside piercing acidity, with flavors of sour green apple and Meyer lemon. Minerality peaks through the mid-palate with the freshness of morning fog, followed by delicate notes of wild herbs. Aged in 30% new French oak. Alcohol: 12.0%. Winemaker: Joseph Ryan. Production is extremely limited at approximately 110 cases.
