Markham Oak Knoll Merlot is a 100% estate-grown Merlot from Markham Vineyards' Little Cannon Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, presented in a 750ml bottle. Markham Vineyards has been crafting Napa Valley Merlot since 1980, making it one of the first four wineries in the region to produce varietal Merlot, and later earning a "Merlot of the Year" designation from Wine Spectator.

The Oak Knoll District sits just south of Yountville, bounded by the Napa River to the east and the Mount Veeder AVA to the west. Cooled by marine influence from the San Pablo Bay, the appellation runs approximately 10°F cooler than Upper Napa Valley and benefits from one of the longest growing seasons in Napa, allowing grapes to ripen slowly and develop complex, layered cherry fruit character.

This wine offers bright red cherry, white shortbread, and dried blueberry aromas and flavors with a chewy, intense structure. It is fermented 67% in stainless steel and 33% in French oak, then aged 26 months in 57% new French oak barrels, achieving a balance of fruit purity and oak-derived complexity with 14.9% alcohol.
