Château Pontet-Canet is a prestigious Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru) estate from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, located in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc, France. The estate sits across the road from the First Growth Château Mouton Rothschild and has been owned by the Tesseron family since 1975, under whose stewardship quality has risen dramatically. This bottling is the 2022 vintage.

The 80-hectare estate is planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, with vines averaging 35 years of age. Grapes are harvested by hand and moved through gravity-feed cellars for crushing. Fermentation takes place in a combination of concrete and stainless steel vats, and the wine is aged for 16 to 20 months in up to 60% new oak barrels before fining with egg whites and bottling.

The wine delivers classic Pauillac character: deep, concentrated dark fruit with a firm tannic structure, notes of cassis, cedar, tobacco, and graphite, and the capacity for long-term cellaring. Pontet-Canet consistently overperforms its Fifth Growth classification and is considered one of Bordeaux's most compelling values among the classified growths.
