Bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV) as required by the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, this bourbon meets strict federal standards: it is distilled in a single season, aged for a minimum of seven years in new charred American oak barrels in a federally bonded warehouse, and reduced in proof using only pure water. The bright copper-colored whiskey offers aromas of graham crackers, honey, light citrus, and summer fruit. The palate is rich and viscous with notes of fresh bread, brown sugar, and baking spices. The finish delivers long-lasting richness with brown sugar sweetness and cinnamon fading to hints of oak.

The Old Fitzgerald brand dates back to 1870 and was first registered in 1884. During Prohibition, the brand was sold to Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle, and in 1999 Heaven Hill acquired the brand.
