The ide "Alcalde" Pinot Noir is a Sonoma County red wine crafted from 100% hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Sonoma County's 19 distinctive viticultural growing areas. By hand-selecting fruit across the appellation, ide Wines obtains the best expression from each vintage. The wine is fermented using native yeast in stainless steel and aged for 10 months in neutral French oak, preserving the natural character of the fruit while adding subtle structure and complexity.
On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of bright raspberry, juicy black cherry, and spiced plum with hints of dusty cherry. On the palate it is full-flavored and elegant, delivering flavors of boysenberry, warm spice, roasted mushroom, and dried sage, with crushed berry notes and crunchy tannins. The finish is lively and food-friendly, with bright acidity and a juicy Bing cherry-lemon peel quality that keeps the wine fresh and balanced. Rated 93 points by Decanter (2023 vintage). Costco offers this wine in a 12-bottle case format.
