Castello Giulio Brunello di Montalcino is a prestigious Italian red wine from the hilltop town of Montalcino in Tuscany. This DOCG-designated wine is made entirely from Sangiovese grapes, reflecting the terroir of one of Italy's most celebrated wine regions. With a 4.2 rating from over 1,000 wine enthusiasts on Vivino, this Brunello ranks in the top 2% of wines worldwide and the top 11% of all Brunello di Montalcino wines.
The wine exhibits a bold, tannic profile with complex tasting notes including dark fruit (plum, cassis), cherry and red fruit, oak with coffee and nutmeg nuances, earthy leather and mineral undertones, and subtle spice notes. At 14.5% alcohol content, this full-bodied wine showcases the characteristic intensity and structure that Brunello is renowned for. The 2015 vintage is particularly exceptional, rating better than any other year for this producer.
This wine pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, poultry, and game meats such as venison. Castello Giulio is located in the medieval village of Villa Santa Restituta, sharing the prestigious neighborhood with renowned producers like Soldera, Angelo Gaja's Brunello project, Poggio Antico, and Caprili. Each 750ML bottle contains sulfites.
