Carol Shelton Coquille Rouge is a red blend from California's Central Coast, crafted by winemaker Carol Shelton. The name "Coquille" (pronounced "ko-keel") is French for scallop or shellfish, a nod to the scallop shells on the Shelton family coat of arms.

This approachable red blend combines Carignane and Grenache Noir for tangy red fruit, Mourvèdre for savory gaminess, Alicante Bouschet for spicy blueberry fruit and deep color, and Petite Sirah for peppery backbone. The wine delivers delightful strawberry and black cherry fruit aromas with savory leather notes and sweet vanilla oak. On the palate it is lively yet smooth and creamy, with a richly textured, layered, and elegant finish.
