Carruades de Lafite 2022 is the acclaimed second wine of Chateau Lafite Rothschild, one of Bordeaux's five First Growth estates under the 1855 Classification. Produced from the Pauillac appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, this wine is crafted from a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, representing approximately 35% of the estate's total harvest.

The 2022 vintage is beautifully balanced with classic Lafite elegance. Aromas of tobacco leaf, flowers, cedar, and sweet cassis lead into a fresh, vibrant palate with juicy currants, blood orange, mint, and cinnamon. The wine is medium to full-bodied with beautifully integrated tannins and bright citrus-driven acidity that keeps the flavors vibrant. The finish is long, pure, and sapid with layers of black currants, black plums, spice, and floral notes. At 13.7% ABV, this is a serious Pauillac built for aging, with a recommended drinking window of 2025 to 2045.

The wine has earned strong critical acclaim, receiving 97 points from James Suckling, 94 points from Jeb Dunnuck, 93 points from Antonio Galloni at Vinous, 93 points from Decanter, and 93 points from Jane Anson at Inside Bordeaux. Currently managed by Saskia de Rothschild, the estate continues the legacy of producing some of the world's most celebrated wines. Best served at around 60 degrees Fahrenheit and pairs exceptionally with classic meat dishes, lamb, duck, game, and rich fish courses.
