Château Canon 2022 Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B, a prestigious Right Bank Bordeaux from one of the appellation's most celebrated estates. This vintage is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, harvested between August 30 and September 22 with yields of 45 hectoliters per hectare. The wine was aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak, including four large oak casks.

The 2022 Canon offers aromas of ripe black cherries, graphite, crushed stone, violets, and rose petals. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with polished, suave tannins, integrated acidity, and a long saline finish. Critics have awarded it perfect or near-perfect scores, with both Jeb Dunnuck and William Kelley of The Wine Advocate rating it 100 points. Antonio Galloni scored it 99 points, calling it a wine of total sophistication and class.

The 34-hectare estate sits on limestone terroir in Saint-Émilion and has been owned by the Wertheimer family (owners of Chanel) since 1996. Following extensive renovations completed in 2015, the property has produced a remarkable string of acclaimed vintages. This wine is expected to age gracefully for three decades or more.
