Château Clerc Milon 2022 is a prestigious Fifth Growth (Cinquième Grand Cru Classé) red wine from the Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, France, produced by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild estate. Acquired by the Rothschild family in 1970 and now stewarded by the third generation, the château draws from 41 hectares of vines on the famed Mousset outcrop overlooking the Gironde estuary. The estate's deep sandy gravel over clay-limestone soils and the moderating influence of the estuary's sea breezes yield wines of distinctive elegance, precision, and longevity.
The 2022 vintage is blended from 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Carmenère. It presents a deep purple hue with a sensational perfume of crème de cassis, spring flowers, spicy oak, graphite, and violets. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated with a weightless mouthfeel, beautifully integrated tannins, and lively acidity culminating in a long, refined finish.
The 2022 vintage has earned exceptional critical recognition, scoring 97 from Jeb Dunnuck, 96 from James Suckling, and 95 from both Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Decanter. The wine has significant aging potential and is recommended for drinking from 2028 onward. Sold individually as a 750mL bottle; cases contain 6 bottles.
