Château La Conseillante 2022 is a prestigious red wine from the Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux, France, produced by one of the appellation's most celebrated estates. Sold as a case of six 750ml bottles, this is the Rouge (red) offering of the 2022 vintage — widely considered one of the finest vintages the estate has ever produced.
The 2022 is a blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, aged in 70% new French oak with a small portion in amphora. The wine clocks in at 13.9% alcohol with a pH of 3.65 and a yield of just 33 hl/ha. It earned near-perfect scores from the world's leading critics, including 98–100 points from Jeb Dunnuck and The Wine Independent, 97–100 from Wine Advocate, and 98–99 from James Suckling.
On the nose, it reveals rose oil, candied violets, crème de cassis, spring flowers, black plums, Morello cherries, star anise, and a hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is full-bodied with ultra-fine, powdery tannins, exceptional purity of fruit, flawless balance, and an extraordinarily long, perfumed finish. Critics note it is "unrivaled in its ability to deliver complexity and elegance" and describes it as a potential "wine of the vintage."
The estate's history dates to 1756, making it one of the oldest properties in Pomerol. The Nicolas family has owned Château La Conseillante since 1871, with winemaker Marielle Cazaux and consulting enologist Thomas Duclos overseeing production. Best enjoyed with 4–6 years of cellaring, with a prime drinking window expected to last 30–40 years from vintage.
