Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan is a prestigious dry red Bordeaux wine from the 2022 vintage, sourced from one of the most celebrated unclassified estates in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux, France. The 2022 rouge is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Merlot, bottled at 14% ABV.

The estate traces its origins to the early 1800s and today spans 72 hectares of gravel and sandy soils in Pessac-Léognan, situated near renowned neighbors such as Château Haut Bailly and Château Smith Haut Lafitte. Since 1987, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion has been owned and managed by the Gervoson family, known for producing the Bonne Maman line of preserves. The red wine is vinified in cement tanks with malolactic fermentation in oak vats, then aged for 15 to 18 months in a combination of new French oak barrels, clay amphora jars, and foudres.

The 2022 vintage opens with smoky red fruits, tobacco leaves, cherries, strawberries, and spearmint on the nose. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, elegant, soft, and silky, delivering a concentrated finish loaded with sweet red pit fruits and a distinctive chocolate-mint note. Critics have awarded this vintage exceptional scores, with a drinking window of 2026 to 2045. Decanting for one to two hours before serving is recommended to allow the wine to open fully.
