Château Latour-Martillac is a historic Bordeaux estate whose origins trace back to the 12th century, named for the medieval tower that still stands at the property. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1953, it is one of only a handful of estates in the region recognized for excellence in both red and white wine production. The estate has been owned by the Kressmann family since the late 1800s and continues to produce wines that reflect the distinctive terroir of Pessac-Léognan in the southern Graves appellation of Bordeaux.
This 2022 red wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine displays aromas and flavors of black currant and blackberry with layered notes of cedar and tobacco. It delivers a complex, balanced structure with the fine-grained tannins and mineral character typical of Pessac-Léognan. Awarded 87 points by Wine Spectator, it is one of approximately 4,500 cases produced for this vintage.
The wine pairs beautifully with red meats, grilled steaks, aged cheeses, and rich pasta dishes. Best served at 60–65°F (16–18°C) and can benefit from 30 minutes of decanting before serving.
