Château Léoville Las Cases 2022 is a prestigious Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) Bordeaux from the Saint-Julien appellation in the Médoc region of France. This historic estate, tracing its origins to 1638 and managed by the Delon family since the late 19th century, is widely considered the greatest property in Saint-Julien and one of the leading "Super-Seconds" in all of Bordeaux.

The 2022 vintage is a blend of 83.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10.5% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Merlot, harvested September 8-30 and aged in 84% new French oak. At 14% alcohol, this full-bodied, dry red wine displays deep garnet-purple color with aromas of wild blueberries, crème de cassis, candied violets, tar, Sichuan pepper, mossy tree bark, and crushed rocks. The palate is tightly coiled with black fruits and spicy layers, supported by firm, beautifully ripe, grainy tannins and fantastic freshness.

This exceptional vintage received near-perfect scores from major critics: 99-100 from James Suckling, 98-100 from Antonio Galloni, Jeb Dunnuck, Neal Martin, and William Kelley. Wine Spectator awarded it 97 points. The recommended drinking window spans 2032-2066, requiring significant cellaring to reach its full potential.
