Château Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2022 is a Grand Cru Classé de Graves from the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation in Bordeaux, France. Estate-bottled by SAS D'Cathiard, Propriétaire, at Martillac (Gironde), this Grand Vin de Bordeaux is crafted under the direction of Florence and Daniel Cathiard, who have transformed the estate into one of Bordeaux's most celebrated producers since acquiring it in 1990.

The 2022 vintage is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completing the assemblage, raised in 60% new French oak. It presents a dense purple hue with a rich, complex nose of cassis, dark berries, woodsmoke, scorched earth, dark chocolate, and chalky minerality. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe, velvety tannins, a fleshy core of fruit, and a long, layered finish featuring notes of licorice, gentian, and dark wild berries.

The 2022 Smith Haut Lafitte has earned exceptional critical acclaim, receiving a perfect 100-point score from Decanter and 97–98 points from James Suckling, placing it among the greatest wines ever produced at this estate alongside the legendary 2009, 2010, and 2020 vintages.
