Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild is the celebrated second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild, a Premier Cru Classé (First Growth) estate in Pauillac on Bordeaux's prestigious Left Bank. Crafted from grapes grown on the same exceptional gravelly terroir as the grand vin, this 2022 vintage allows wine lovers to experience the signature Mouton style — exuberant, structured, and deeply expressive — without the extended cellaring typically required of the flagship wine.

The 2022 blend is composed of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, reaching 14.2% ABV. The wine was aged in 60% new French oak barrels, contributing spice and complexity while preserving freshness. It opens with a deep purple hue and aromas of ripe black fruits, crushed stone, graphite, and dark chocolate, with a lifted floral character. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, pure, and flawlessly balanced, with flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, damson, olive paste, and baked plum, finishing long and perfumed with velvety, well-integrated tannins.

The 2022 vintage received outstanding critical praise: 96 points from Jeb Dunnuck ("up there with the top second wines in the vintage"), 95 points from Jane Anson at Inside Bordeaux ("a buy"), and 94 points from Georgina Hindle at Decanter. Recommended drinking window is 2025–2045. Sold individually at 750ml.
