Old Grand-Dad 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey produced at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky by James B. Beam Distilling Co. (JBBDCo), a subsidiary of Beam Suntory. The brand was established in 1882 by Raymond B. Hayden, who named it after his grandfather, Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr. This expression is an annual limited release, with each vintage produced from a single distillation season in strict accordance with the federal Bottled-in-Bond Act. The inaugural 2025 release was distilled in the Spring of 2018 and aged for a minimum of seven years.
Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), this bourbon is crafted from a high-rye mashbill of 63% corn, 27% rye, and 10% malted barley. The elevated rye content defines Old Grand-Dad's signature spicy character. The whiskey presents a golden color with deep copper tones, and is best served neat, on the rocks, or in classic bourbon cocktails that call for a full-bodied, layered spirit.
On the nose, the bourbon opens with bold caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, and rustic orange peel, underscored by toasted oak and hints of peanut brittle. The palate is full-bodied and spicy, with sweet velvety caramel, charred oak, vanilla bean, brown sugar, and a touch of chocolate. The finish is long and lingering, with peppery rye spice, dry oak, and warming baking spices. Costco offers this product as a case of six 750mL bottles.
