The Braun ThermoScan 4 is a compact, handheld digital ear thermometer designed for fast, gentle, and accurate temperature readings. It measures infrared heat from the eardrum and surrounding tissue, taking 8 measurements in just one second and displaying the highest reading for accuracy. The color-coded display provides instant fever detection with a green screen for normal temperature, yellow for fever, and red for high fever.

The thermometer features audio fever guidance with one beep for normal temperature, two consecutive beeps when the reading is 99.5°F (37.5°C) or higher, and four beeps when it reaches 101.4°F (38.6°C) or higher. It includes a memory function to recall previous readings and automatically shuts off after 60 seconds of inactivity. The device operates within a displayed temperature range of 34°C to 42.2°C (93.2°F to 108°F) with an accuracy of ±0.2°C between 35.5°C and 42°C.
