Château Fombrauge is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France. Owned by Bernard Magrez, Fombrauge is the largest estate in Saint-Émilion, tracing its origins back to 1679 and spanning approximately 60 hectares beautifully situated on the hillsides overlooking the Dordogne Valley.
The wine is a Merlot-dominant blend (85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc) that pours a deep, rich purple with aromas of dark fruit and earthy, barnyard complexity. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with elegant structure and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and boysenberry, finishing with earthy depth. Alcohol content is 15%.
Highly acclaimed by major wine critics, this wine has earned scores of 94 points from Jeb Dunnuck, 92 from Wine Spectator, and 90 from Wine Advocate. It is considered an age-worthy bottle with the potential to develop further over 5–7 years of cellaring.
