El Samaritano Mezcal Artesanal is a handcrafted Mexican spirit produced in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca — widely known as the "Capital Mundial del Mezcal" (World Capital of Mezcal). The brand was founded in 2013 by Maestro Mezcalero Don Ambrosio Martinez Blas, a 5th-generation mezcalero who has been producing mezcal since 1993 using centuries-old artisanal techniques passed down through his family.

Don Ambrosio crafts this mezcal at his palenque, a traditional distillery handed down from his father, which has been producing mezcal for over 40 years. The name El Samaritano is inspired by "La Samaritana," a festivity celebrated on the fourth Friday of Lent that holds deep cultural significance in Oaxaca.

Artesanal mezcal is produced using time-honored methods including earth-pit roasting of the agave piñas, which imparts the characteristic smoky complexity the spirit is known for. This 750ml bottle is sold in a case of 12 units and is imported from Mexico.
