Domaine Gueguen Chablis is a 100% Chardonnay white wine from the Chablis appellation within Burgundy, France, produced by Domaine Céline et Frédéric Gueguen. The estate was founded in January 2013 by Céline and Frédéric Gueguen, who had previously worked at larger Chablis wine estates for over 15 years. Located in the villages of Chichée and Préhy, roughly 7 km south-west of Chablis, the domaine is committed to environmental conservation and expressive terroir-driven winemaking.
The south-east facing vineyards are planted on soils of Kimmeridgian limestone — famous for their fossil content of Exogyra Virgula oysters — layered with Jurassic clay and limestone. Vine age averages 40 years, contributing to concentration and depth. Fruit is mechanically harvested and gently direct-pressed. Fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation typically completing by December. The wine then matures on fine lees for approximately 10 months entirely in stainless steel, preserving the variety's characteristic freshness and fruitiness before being fined, filtered, and bottled at the estate.
The wine is very dry with an intense nose of citrus, melon, and white flowers. On the palate it shows richness, vibrant acidity, and pronounced minerality. It has earned a score of 90 from Wine Spectator. At 12.5% ABV, it pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish such as oysters, mussels, clams, and shrimp, as well as salads and light cream-based dishes.
