Intercept Chardonnay is a California white wine from Monterey County's Arroyo Seco appellation, created by Charles Woodson, the 18-year NFL veteran and Pro Football Hall of Famer known for his 65 career interceptions. The wine is fermented in a blend of French and Eastern European oak barrels (25% new) and stainless steel, then aged sur lie for 6 months, producing a rich, medium-bodied Chardonnay with bright acidity and a lingering toasty oak finish.

Tasting notes reveal aromas and flavors of ripe peach, apple, shortbread, and creamy lemon curd. The wine finishes with subtle oak and vanilla character. It pairs beautifully with seafood including salmon, crab, and octopus, as well as roasted chicken and fresh summer salads. Alcohol content is 14.5%. The 2020 vintage was ranked #72 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2022.
