Old Forester "The President's Choice" Kentucky Straight Rye Whisky is a limited edition, single barrel expression hand-selected by the distillery's president to showcase the finest rye barrels in Old Forester's inventory. Inspired by the pioneering private single barrel program introduced in 1964 by former president George Garvin Brown II, this modern release carries on a tradition of choosing only those barrels that display truly exceptional character and quality.

Crafted in Kentucky from a mash bill of 65% rye, 20% malted barley, and 15% corn, each barrel is aged between 7 to 9 years and bottled at cask strength — approximately 119 proof — without chill filtration to preserve its full, uncompromised flavor. The nose opens with dark cherry, cracked pepper, clove, cinnamon bark, and toasted oak. On the palate, intense rye spice is interwoven with black tea, burnt orange, molasses, and dark chocolate, leading to a finish of earthy pepper and soft vanilla.

This marks the first rye whisky ever released under the President's Choice label. Originally exclusive to the Old Forester Distilling Co. in Louisville, this expression received its first limited national distribution in June 2025, making it a rare and highly sought-after collector's release.
