Masseria del Feudo Nero d'Avola is a certified organic Sicilian red wine produced by the Cucurullo family at their self-sustaining farm in Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy. Made from 100% Nero d'Avola, the indigenous grape of Sicily, this wine showcases the character and depth for which the variety is celebrated. The estate's high-altitude vineyards ensure cooler evenings even in the hottest Sicilian summers, lending extra acidity and backbone to this small-batch wine.
The wine pours an intense ruby red. On the nose, aromas of ripe blackberry, dusty bramble, plum, Mediterranean cherry, and black olive are complemented by menthol, hints of pepper, and subtle floral violet notes. On the palate, it is medium-light bodied with velvety texture, sapid character, and smooth, sweet tannins. The finish is vibrant with a lingering fruity aftertaste driven by the grape's signature bright acidity. Earthy, oaky, and spice undertones of leather, tobacco, vanilla, and cinnamon add complexity.
This wine pairs well with beef, lamb, and pasta dishes. Rated 3.7 on Vivino with over 527 ratings, it ranks among the top 9% of all wines from the Sicilian region. Alcohol: 13%. Contains sulfites.
