Gundlach Bundschu "GunBun" Pinot Noir is a Sonoma County red wine crafted by a sixth-generation, family-owned California winery whose history of farming and winemaking spans more than 160 years. The GunBun label serves as the approachable, unpretentious alter ego of the Gundlach Bundschu estate, drawing fruit from the cool, windswept slopes of Sonoma County with a consistent focus on sustainability and inclusive, everyday enjoyment.
This 750ml bottle is sustainably farmed and certified all natural, vegan friendly, gluten free, and contains no added sugar. The wine is aged nine months in barrel and carries 14.2% alcohol by volume. It is sold in cases of 12 bottles.
The wine opens with expressive aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, and cranberry, layered with rose petal, baking spice, and a subtle hint of forest floor. On the palate, bright red fruit remains the core, joined by notes of pomegranate, raspberry, and a touch of cola, supported by gentle earthy undertones and a whisper of toasted oak. The texture is supple and polished, with silky tannins and fresh, well-integrated acidity reflecting the cooler influence of Sonoma's growing conditions. The finish is clean and lifted, offering lingering red fruit and soft spice.
Pairs naturally with pork dishes, roasted poultry, grilled salmon, or casual comfort foods. Serve slightly cool to highlight the wine's freshness and vibrant fruit character.
