Domaine Moulin-Tacussel is a red Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine from the Southern Rhône Valley, France, sold in a 750 mL bottle (case pack of 12). The estate traces its origins to the Tacussel family, with the property taking its current name in 1976 when Robert Moulin acquired it from Henri Tacussel. The debut vintage was released in 1985.
The wine is a classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape rouge blended from approximately 75% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and 5% assorted AOC-permitted varieties including Cinsault, Counoise, Muscardin, and Vaccarese. Vines average around 45 years of age and are planted in the Colombis, Mont Pertuis, Mourre de Gaud, and Le Palestor lieux-dits on soils of rocks, stones, sand, and limestone. The wine is aged 12–14 months in a combination of foudres, tank, and used French oak barrels before bottling, with production averaging around 1,000 cases per vintage.
On the palate, the wine typically offers notes of cherry, kirsch, herbs, white pepper, and Provençal garrigue, with a medium body and fresh finish. It benefits from 1 hour of decanting when young and generally drinks best with 2–4 years of bottle age, with top vintages capable of aging 3–12 years. Serve at approximately 60°F (15.5°C). Pairs well with roasted and braised meats, lamb, duck, sausage, cassoulet, mushrooms, pasta, and aged cheeses.
