Running on a standard 1 lb propane cylinder it operates for approximately 5 hours on the low setting or 3 hours on the high setting. For extended sessions the unit can be connected to a standard 20 lb propane tank using a separately purchased hose and adapter, yielding up to 100 hours on low or 60 hours on high — the external tank must always be positioned outside the space being heated.
