Antinori Solaia is one of Italy's most celebrated Super Tuscan red wines, produced by the historic Marchesi Antinori estate from its namesake vineyard at Tenuta Tignanello in Chianti Classico, Tuscany. First produced in 1978, Solaia is crafted from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese grapes grown on the sunniest part of the Tignanello hillside — a 50-acre (20-hectare) vineyard with a southwestern exposure at an elevation of 1,150 to 1,325 feet above sea level, with stony soils of alberese (hard limestone) and galestro (flaky calcareous clay).

The wine is produced only in exceptional vintages and classified as Toscana IGT. Grapes are destemmed, selected on sorting tables, and transferred by gravity into truncated cone fermentation tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques, and aging occurs in new French oak barrels for approximately 15 months. The resulting wine is deeply ruby red with violet hues, showing aromas of black currant, blueberry, plum, and fig, with floral hints of sweet violet, followed by notes of powdered sugar, cocoa, white pepper, tobacco, and quinine. The palate is creamy and rich, with silky, mouth-filling tannins and an exceptionally long finish. Antinori Solaia and its sibling Tignanello have been recognized by international critics as "among the most influential wines in the history of Italian viticulture." Sold as a case of three 750ML bottles.
