Marchesi Grignolino d'Asti is a red wine produced by Cantine dei Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta, a historic winemaking estate with roots stretching back over 1,000 years in the Piedmont region of Italy. Grignolino is one of the oldest grape varietals indigenous to the Monferrato area of Piedmont, and this wine honors that ancient heritage. The grapes are vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel vats to preserve the varietal's natural character and freshness, carrying a Grignolino d'Asti DOC designation.
The wine presents a clear and bright ruby red color in the glass. On the nose, it opens with delicate aromas of wild strawberry and rose, accented by intriguing spicy notes of white pepper. On the palate, it is light-bodied yet delivers a surprisingly structured tannic presence, culminating in a persistent, elegant finish. Alcohol content ranges from 12.5 to 13.5%.
Grignolino d'Asti pairs exceptionally well with a wide range of dishes: pasta with tomato sauces, pizza, light cheeses and charcuteries, grilled meats and fish, vegetarian dishes, and Asian cuisine including sushi. The wine can be served chilled and is an ideal choice as a summer wine. Best enjoyed just a few months after bottling and within approximately three years of the vintage. Serve at 16–18°C (61–65°F) and store away from light at a constant temperature around 15°C (59°F).
