Les Tourelles de Longueville is the prestigious second wine of Château Pichon-Longueville Baron (Pichon Baron), a Second Grand Cru Classé estate in the renowned Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. Owned by AXA Millésimes, the estate produces wines of exceptional structure and aging potential, with the Grand Vin considered capable of cellaring for 40 or more years.
This set offers a unique vertical tasting experience across four consecutive vintages: four 750ml bottles representing the 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 harvests, each showcasing the evolution of this celebrated label across varying growing seasons. The wine is drawn predominantly from the Sainte Anne plot, planted mainly to Merlot, and is complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Grapes are harvested and sorted by hand before fermentation in temperature-controlled vats and aging in French oak barrels.
Named after the distinctive turrets (tourelles) that adorn the château, Les Tourelles de Longueville delivers the elegance and terroir expression of Pauillac at an accessible price relative to the Grand Vin. Expect aromas and flavors of ripe dark cherry, blackcurrant, cedar, and graphite, with the structured tannins and acidity characteristic of the Médoc's finest appellations.
