The Chateau Ste. Michelle Katie Nelson Cabernet Sauvignon is a winemaker signature series red wine from Washington's Columbia Valley, crafted by Katie Nelson, Vice President of Winemaking at Chateau Ste. Michelle. With over 30 years of Washington winemaking experience, Katie Nelson is one of the most decorated winemakers in the Pacific Northwest, with a portfolio spanning more than 150 wines rated 90 points or above and nine wines scoring 95 or higher from publications including Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine & Spirits. She was also the first woman to receive the Grand Vin Award from the Washington Winegrowers Association.
This Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a nose of blackberries, dark plum, fresh herbs, and baking spice. On the palate it is smooth and full-bodied, with rich dark fruit flavors of dark cherry and plum, layered with bittersweet chocolate, olive, and a hint of ocean breeze minerality. The wine finishes with silky tannins and subtle cocoa. Rated 91 points by Wine Enthusiast, it represents exceptional everyday value from Washington state.
Chateau Ste. Michelle is Washington's founding winery, established in 1934, and owns over 3,500 acres of sustainably farmed estate vineyards in the Columbia Valley, including the renowned Canoe Ridge Estate and Cold Creek vineyards โ both LIVE and Salmon Safe certified. The Columbia Valley's unique terroir of warm days, cool nights, and volcanic basalt soils produces Cabernet Sauvignon with concentrated fruit flavors and elegant structure. Pairs well with grilled steaks, lamb chops, roasted mushrooms, and aged cheeses. Available in a case of 12 bottles.
