Patricia Green Cellars Freedom Hill Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard red wine sourced from the renowned Freedom Hill Vineyard in the Mt Pisgah AVA of Oregon's Willamette Valley. The vineyard sits at 500 feet elevation on ancient seabed soils, with Pinot Noir vines planted in 1982 and farmed using practicing organic methods. This bottling represents one of the signature expressions in the Patricia Green Cellars portfolio, a winery celebrated for its meticulous, vineyard-driven approach to Oregon Pinot Noir.

The wine is vinified with 15% whole cluster inclusion and undergoes gentle extraction through pumpovers and pigeages. It is then aged for 12 months in 9% new French oak barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the vineyard's natural character. At 13.5% ABV, it is a light to medium-bodied red displaying aromas of cranberry, cherry, bright spices, orange zest, and dried earth, underpinned by a chalky texture, refined tannins, and lively mouthwatering acidity.

The 2023 vintage earned 95 points from Jeb Dunnuck, who praised its outstanding complexity and tension with a drinking window of 2025 through 2035. Vinous awarded it 92 points, noting geranium, rose, wet stones, and wild strawberry on a wave of silken textures. Wine Advocate also scored it 92 points, highlighting red cherry, cranberry, tangerine peel, tea leaves, and thyme with a long, perfumed finish. Pairs beautifully with roasted beef, veal, poultry, and game meats such as venison. Contains sulfites.
