ZaHa Calcaire Blanc de Blancs is a premium Argentine sparkling wine crafted using the traditional Méthode Champenoise, the same labor-intensive method used to produce authentic Champagne, with a secondary fermentation occurring in the bottle. The grapes are 100% Chardonnay sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Paraje Altamira, within the prestigious Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina, a region prized for its limestone-rich soils and dramatic elevation that impart exceptional minerality and bright acidity.
The wine is aged on its lees for 12 months, developing a rounded mouthfeel and layers of complexity. In the glass it presents a beautiful light gold color with fine to medium persistent bubbles. The nose offers enticing aromas of white peach, pear, and subtle hints of butter. On the palate, vibrant citrus flavors of lemon, apple, grapefruit, and lime emerge, with delicate chamomile notes and a refreshing saline finish. The style is Nature (very low dosage), making it bone dry, crisp, and elegantly restrained throughout.
At 12% alcohol by volume, this 750ml bottle delivers outstanding value as a sophisticated alternative to traditional Champagne. It earned 90 points from CostcoWineBlog and received praise from Wine Enthusiast for its fine effervescence, fruit-forward character, and lasting finish.
