Domaine Durup Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is a prestigious white Burgundy wine from the Chablis appellation in France, produced by one of the region's most storied estates. The Durup family has cultivated vines in Chablis for 15 generations, farming 200 hectares across 11 of the 20 communes within the appellation. Their holdings include some of the finest Premier Cru climates, among them Montée de Tonnerre — widely regarded as one of the most reputed Premier Crus in all of Chablis.
The estate farms 2 hectares of the Montée de Tonnerre climat, located alongside the Grand Cru vineyards on the eastern edge of the town. The vineyard sits on steep slopes with argilo-calcaire and Kimmeridgian limestone soils, which contribute to the wine's signature minerality. Viticulture is conducted with reasoned agricultural practices, and vinification takes place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the pure, crisp character typical of Chablis.
The wine presents a golden-green robe with brilliant clarity. On the nose, it offers fruity and mineral aromas of citrus with a subtle smoky note. The palate is rich and long, with a full, generous texture. It pairs beautifully with foie gras, charcuterie, seafood, shellfish, fish, poultry, and white meats. Serve at 10–14°C and drink between 2025 and 2032. Alcohol: 12.5%. Contains sulfites.
