Devaux Grande Réserve Brut is a non-vintage Champagne from the prestigious Côte des Bar region of France, produced by the storied house of Champagne Devaux. Founded in 1846 by brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux and now part of the Groupe Vinicole Champagne DEVAUX, this house is renowned for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and rigorous quality standards unique to the appellation.
The cuvée is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, with must from the first press fermented in stainless steel tanks. It is blended with 20% reserve wine from the previous vintage aged in oak barrels, then aged a minimum of 36 months on the lees in bottle, and disgorged with a dosage of 8 g/L for a dry, refined palate. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and rests an additional 3 months after disgorgement before release.
On the nose, it offers floral aromas with hints of ripe stone fruit — apricots and peaches — alongside roasted nuts, cocoa, apples, raspberries, and praline. On the palate it is pleasant and medium-bodied with bright acidity, a soft bubble, and a fine, intense finish. It is well suited as an aperitif or alongside charcuterie and rice dishes. Rated 91 by James Suckling, 91 by Decántalo, and 89 by Decanter.
