Tesseron XO Perfection is a prestigious Grande Champagne Cognac produced by Tesseron Cognac, a family house founded by Abel Tesseron in 1905 and located in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, between Cognac and Angouleme. The house is one of the last custodians of ancient, rare eaux-de-vie stocks — stocks so coveted that for generations they were sold exclusively to the largest Cognac houses before the Tesseron family launched their own brand in 2003. The family also owns the acclaimed Chateau Pontet-Canet in Pauillac, Bordeaux.

The XO Perfection is a blend of Tesseron's most sublime Grande Champagne stocks, composed primarily of Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes aged approximately 50 years — spanning two generations — in Limousin oak casks. Limousin oak is prized for its fatter, looser grain compared to Tronçais oak, providing greater oxygen exchange, finer tannins, and superior conditions for long-term maturation. All Tesseron cognacs are aged in humid cellars, which imparts a rounder, more opulent flavor profile. The spirit is bottled at 40% ABV.

In the glass, the XO Perfection displays a sumptuous topaz color. On the nose, it opens with an oaky, nut-paste aroma interwoven with fruity notes of berries, dried fruit, plums, pears, and a hint of soft cheese. The bouquet deepens to reveal wood, tobacco, and dried fruit — very rich and generous. On the palate, pepper and spices emerge first, giving way to dark chocolate, caramel, rancio, orange rind, and fresh herbs. The finish is beautifully long, showing depth, finesse, maturity, and a refreshing lift. Scores of 97–98 points from Wine Advocate and Wine Enthusiast attest to its world-class quality.
