Château Lanessan is a prestigious red wine from the Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux, France, produced by the Bouteiller family who have owned the property since its founding in 1793. This 750mL bottle showcases the estate's 32 hectares of 30-year-old vines grown in deep Garonne gravel beds, yielding a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
Crafted with meticulous attention, the grapes are mechanically harvested at peak ripeness and sorted using optical screening equipment to ensure only the finest fruit enters the cellar. Vinification takes place in coated concrete tanks with precise temperature control, employing traditional techniques including pumping over and rack and return as dictated by each vintage.
The wine presents a multilayered, elegant nose followed by lovely structure on the palate, featuring fleshy tannins, notes of cassis and violet, and a long, refined finish. Medium-bodied at 13% ABV, it is an approachable yet age-worthy expression of classic Haut-Médoc terroir. Leading critics have awarded it scores of 92–93 from James Suckling and 90–92 from Neal Martin across multiple vintages.
